Fidelio is Beethoven´s only opera, in 2 acts and a German libretto by Joseph Sonnleithner. It was first performed in Vien in 1805 and this 2008 you have the opportunity to watch it in the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona.

The Gran Teatre del Liceu opened in 1847. On January 31, 1994, the building was destroyed by fire. Now rebuilt, the Liceu is used for classic plays and other kinds of performances. 

How to get there

Underground: take L3 metro line (green line) until Liceu station.
Bus: the buses nr. 14 & 59 go down Las Ramblas and stop just in front of the Theatre.
